Update 4
by jamie on Jun.26, 2009, under Filming, Multimedia Camp, Studio, Thoughts, Video Editing
Well this morning, we had Ps. Brad talk to us, debriefing and telling a story. Next Brad assigned me to help Joel with the studio setup, so we can interview Ms. McQuaker and Ps. Craig Murison. Most of the time after that I was shadowing people, so I can learn about Photoshop and Vegas. After school I captured video from the interview with Ps. Craig Murison. At the end of the day I was backing up everyone’s work so we don’t lose it. I also tried to create a panorama photo from Marc’s Photos that he took, but after about 45 minutes I gave up because all the photos were still being processed on the computer.
Check back tomorrow for another update.
Update 3
by jamie on Jun.25, 2009, under Blogging, Multimedia Camp, Podcasting, Studio, Video Editing
Hey everyone,
Today was another busy, fun and full of learning day! The first thing I did today was help set up the cameras in the studio (with white balance, focus) so we can start doing our interviews. The first person we interviewed today was Ps. Craig Murison, who is the Principal of Mackay Christian College, the second person was Mrs Lesley Tunnah, Head of Secondary of Mackay Christian College. We also did a podcast shoot with Ps. Craig and Mrs. Tunnah to put in our podcasts. We had to be quiet during the shoot, so we wrapped masking tape around the stairways so no one could get in. The afternoon for me was to learn how to capture video footage and to also help other students with their blogging in my spare time. At the end of the day I was busy backing up all of the computers so we don’t lose our work.
Thank you for viewing my blog. come back tomorrow for another update
Update 2
by jamie on Jun.24, 2009, under Blogging, Multimedia Camp, Podcasting, Studio
Hey Everyone
Today (Wednesday) I feel was the most productive day for me. Firstly, this morning until morning tea, Brad had a teaching session with the rest of the students, all about Compression in video and audio, high definition cameras and the difference between high definition and standard definition. After our morning tea, I helped with the final touches with the studio and also setting up our printer so we can print our own DVD covers and discs. In the afternoon we used our new studio for the first time, interviewing some of our past students of the Multimedia Camp. We tried doing a podcast after that, but our defuser wasn’t working as the fabric being too thick for what we need it for. So we waited for the late afternoon to start some podcasting. At around 5pm, we had some pizza and some soda for our dinner. After dinner, we had a quick debrief of what we are going to do. Most of us are staying up at the school until 8pm tonight to get more work done.
Thank you for reading my blog. Tune in for tomorrows update.
Update 1

Hello There,
Most of day one Ps. Brad gave us a debrief, Talking about PAL vs. NTSC and Color differences Between Australia and the States. Showing us what programs we will be using for the project and how to set the right settings and also showing all the devices we will be working with. After lunch we got straight into working. I got the opportunity to set up the studio, with lighting and preparing the room we will be using for the studio. Most of today (Tuesday) we were setting up the studio with the other lighting guys, making sure that there are no shadows in shots, getting the lights adjusted and also getting tripods set up and ready for cameras when we start filming video. Also in the afternoon we got taught how to set up our own blog so we can tell the world what we do daily.
I am so far enjoying the multimedia camp and it is a great experience so far.
I invite you to visit my blog for daily updates on the Multimedia Camp.

Hello,
I’m Jamie Miltenburg. This is my second year at the multimedia camp. My first Multimedia Camp was the year before last one, I learnt a lot about Ambient audio, Sound and Video editing. I am glad to have the opportunity to attend Multimedia Camp 09. I believe I will learn more through the next week and a half with professional video, Audio and lighting. I am pretty much a nerd at heart, and do it for God’s glory and not my own. I believe that God will guide me through this camp, equipping me and teaching me.
I invite you to visit my blog daily for updates with the camp
Jamie
